
They chose this typical "wedding date" because it was supposed to stand for a long-term relationship. All in all, they worked about one year in the run-up on the conceptualisation of the company, the financing and the planning. A lot of meetings were held at the typical "kitchen table" on a secret mission before going public with the idea.
As early as at the 1999/2000 turn of the year @FRIENDS also got the Brunswick site. This had been established before by Marc Gobbetto at Promota as competent head of division, and in the middle of 1999 it was handed over to his successor.
This step allowed @FRIENDS to advance rapidly. Every year we have created new call centre seats and thus new jobs. Development and growth can be read from the figures: since the start-up year with approx. 1.5 mil euros turnover it has increased to about 12 mil euros in the 6th year.
In 2000 Erika Haack as a colleague of many years’ standing from other agencies joined @FRIENDS, and in the following year Wolfram Dura completed the management and partner team.
This also allowed us to advance mightily. About 10 mil euros turnover in the outbound sector make us one of the biggest and above all a quality supplier in this field in Germany.
At present we are running 270 call centre seats at the Bielefeld and Brunswick sites, with about 650 agents who work for @FRIENDS part-time and full-time. Due to the continuously growing demand for professional, reputable and competent telesales services @FRIENDS will increase its own capacities by further 35-50 seats in 2006.
The sectors of Training and Consulting that were still an essential part of services in the beginning year of @FRIENDS were transferred to our partner company "reden ist silber" in 2004. Thus we can fully concentrate on the top quality of our telemarketing. Nevertheless we have remained true to the communicative requirements of excellent telemarketing. We are investing a lot of time and money into offering our teams trainings and further education.
